Over the last 8 years, we
transformed the historic farm we purchased in
early 2000 into a state-of-the-art winery and
estate vineyard. Our single-minded goal of producing
premium wines from Colorado’s Grand Valley has
become a reality.
We acquired Garfield
Estates from the granddaughter of the family that
originally homesteaded the land well over 100
years ago. From the very beginning we wanted to
create a premium winery while also retaining the
historic aspects of this property. Our winery is
renovated from the original barn and incorporates
this historic building into a modern winemaking
facility. We will continue to respect the heritage
of this great property while we produce the wines
of Garfield Estates. It is our belief that this
adds to the unique experience for visitors to our
winery.
We have also continued the farming
heritage of this property. In the spring of 2000
we planted our estate vineyard. Currently we have
11 acres planted with five different varieties of
grapes: Syrah, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc,
Semillon, and Muscat Ottonel. These varieties will
form the foundation of Garfield Estates’ wines for
many years to come.
It is our sincere hope
that you will taste the results of our commitment
to excellence in the wines we
produce.
