Did You Know

We love to talk about wine.  When you visit Garfield Estates winery be sure to ask for a guided tour.  We will probably tell you more about wine then you care to know.  Tours include a walk through our winery and crush pad, where we will tell you about our vineyard, harvest and winemaking processes.

January 2008 - All is quiet. Vines are well into winter dormancy. Weather has been very cooperative this year with cool steady temperatures and lots of moisture which is ideal for the vines. We are well into planning for spring pruning and planting in our new vineyard.

December 2007 - The 2007 Viognier, Vin De Glace and Vin Rose were all bottled in December. As has been reported earlier the 2007 harvest was down in volume and subsequently our production for each of these very popular wines was off quite a bit. Get them while you can, they will sell out fast this year!

November 2007 - Harvest is complete and all the wines are bubbling along. Quality is outstanding but quantity is off a bit. Picking and processing went very smoothly. Brix levels were lower than in past years and the resulting wines will have lower alcohol levels which give them better balance.
